Built by a buyer, for buyers

Acquisiteur is built and run by Gautier Michenaud, based in France. I spend my days sourcing and screening online-business acquisitions, first for myself and then professionally, in digital private equity. This site is the tool that work kept asking for and no marketplace had any reason to build.

Marketplaces show you their own listings, at today's asking price, and nothing else. They do not tell you that the price was cut twice, that the deal fell through and came back, or what the last ten businesses like it actually sold for. Each of them has an incentive not to. An independent record does not.

So Acquisiteur syncs 34 marketplaces and brokers every day and writes down what it sees: 30,725 asking-price histories and 4,855 closed sales so far. The figures themselves are shown exactly as the sources publish them, flagged when they contradict each other, never corrected in the dark.

Why a French name

In French, an acquéreur is the one who ends up owning the business. An acquisiteur is older and rarer: the one who goes out and finds the deal. That is the job this site does, and the accent it keeps is where it is built. Consider it a signature rather than a spelling mistake.

Independence

Acquisiteur is not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by any of the marketplaces and brokers it tracks. Their names and logos appear for identification only, and every listing links back to its source. We earn nothing on any transaction; the subscription is the whole business model, which is exactly why the data can stay honest.
